Laura Coy is the Director of Community Engagement at William Blair, a global investment banking and wealth management firm. Laura joined William Blair in 2016 in the newly created role to elevate William Blair's deep philanthropic culture and create opportunities to engage employees in all global communities where they live and work. Laura is responsible for a multi-million dollar grants program and also leads the William Blair & Company Foundation Community Partners program which funds breakthrough projects serving under-resourced and opportunity youth.
Laura is a champion of building relationships that better our communities. Drawing upon her experiences in the non-profit sector at organizations such as the Alzheimer's Association, American Red Cross of Greater Chicago, and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, she initiates programs and networks that deliver both business and social value. In 2008, she began her career in corporate philanthropy at Grainger, where she ultimately served as the senior manager of Corporate Social Responsibility. There, she became a thought leader in developing best practices in corporate citizenship that create shared value.
Laura proudly serves on the board of ACCP. She is passionate about empowering our generation of talented citizenship professions. She is also a co-chair of the Chicago Community Trust Financial Services Pipeline Initiative and has served on multiple local fundraising and nonprofit boards. She graduated from the University of Illinois and resides in Chicago with her husband and two daughters.
