Fairfax, VA, December 12, 2024 – The Association of Corporate Citizenship Professionals (ACCP), the leading membership organization for purpose-driven companies and corporate social impact professionals, today announced the appointment of Andrea Wood as its new President and CEO, effective January 29, 2025. Ms. Wood will succeed Carolyn Berkowitz, who has served as ACCP’s President and CEO for seven years.
Andrea Wood joins ACCP with an impressive background in corporate social responsibility, nonprofit leadership, and in advancing equity in the corporate sector and in communities. Most recently, she led transformative local and national impact at Best Buy, while enhancing employee engagement and building the company’s reputation. With a proven track record of strategic leadership, Ms. Wood will oversee ACCP’s continued efforts to provide corporate citizenship professionals with the resources, support, and community needed to advance social impact work.
“We are thrilled to welcome Andrea Wood as the next CEO of ACCP” said Carlos Pagoaga, Chair of ACCP’s Board of Directors and President of the Coca-Cola Foundation. “Andrea brings a wealth of experience, visionary leadership, and a deep commitment to ACCP’s mission. We are confident that she will lead ACCP and the field of corporate citizenship into an exciting new chapter of growth and impact.”
In her new role, Ms. Wood will work closely with ACCP’s talented staff and prestigious Board to drive impactful and inclusive programming, expand association resources, and elevate the business case for corporate citizenship.
“I am honored to join ACCP and lead the organization into its next chapter. As a former member and Board member, I have a deep appreciation for the value ACCP provides to corporate citizenship professionals as well as the important role it plays elevating the business and societal benefits of corporations investing in communities.” said Ms. Wood. “I look forward to working alongside the Board, the staff, and our members to advance ACCP’s mission and continue fostering a vibrant community of professionals committed to driving positive social impact.”
The search for a new leader commenced after the announcement of President and CEO Carolyn Berkowitz’s intent to retire. The Board expressed its gratitude to Berkowitz for strengthening ACCP’s reputation, expanding its network and her commitment to ensuring a smooth transition.
“Carolyn has been an exceptional leader for ACCP,” said Pagoaga. “Her contributions have left an indelible mark on the association, and we are deeply grateful for her tireless work in advancing the impact of corporate citizenship.”
Andrea Wood will officially assume the role of President and CEO in late January 2025. In the coming months, she will engage with ACCP members and stakeholders to further inform the organization’s long-term goals and strategies.
