ACCP Survey of 135 Major Companies Shows 49-Point Surge in Use of AI to Boost Productivity and Program Impact
WASHINGTON, DC – Artificial intelligence (AI) is quickly becoming an essential tool for corporate social responsibility (CSR) leaders, helping them manage larger workloads, rising expectations, and increased scrutiny. A new survey from the Association of Corporate Citizenship Professionals (ACCP) and YourCause from Blackbaud finds that 73% of CSR teams at 135 major companies now use AI to streamline operations, boost efficiency, foster innovation, and amplify impact.
The 6th Annual CSR Insights Survey shows:
WIDESPREAD AI ADOPTION IN CSR: Nearly three-quarters (73%) of respondents say their teams are now using AI tools in their day-to-day work. The most common applications include:
- Communications & Storytelling – Crafting compelling narratives to engage employees, customers, and community stakeholders. 72% using to enhance communications in 2025, compared to 36% in 2024.
- Productivity Optimization – Automating routine tasks to free up time for higher-value strategic work. 64% using to enhance productivity in 2025, compared to 15% in 2024.
- Data Analysis – Measuring impact, improving programs, and connecting results to business outcomes. 37% using for data analysis in 2025, compared to 14% in 2024.
“AI is not replacing the relationships and human expertise essential to social impact work — it’s enhancing them,” said Andrea Wood, President and CEO of ACCP. “CSR leaders are using AI to tell richer stories, analyze data faster, and link their work more directly to business priorities, accelerating the results they can deliver for both their companies and communities.”
The CSR Insights Survey has been conducted annually since 2020 and measures trends in the corporate social impact field. This comprehensive survey covers topics ranging from AI adoption, community investments, and employee volunteerism to budget allocations, DEI integration, and other emerging trends shaping the future of CSR. Respondents represent CSR professionals working at many of the world’s leading companies, offering a unique perspective on how the field is evolving in today’s business environment.
