Dr. Robert Simmons

Dr. Robert Simmons serves as the Director of Micron Foundation North at Micron Technology. In this role Robert leads social impact philanthropy and STEM programming in North America. Through such programs as Chip Camp, Girls Going Tech, and the STEM of Sports Academy, Micron’s no-cost STEM programming has partnered with a variety of universities and community organizations in North America. Prior to his role at Micron, Dr. Simmons served as a tenured professor of science education and urban education at Loyola University Maryland, Chief of Innovation and Research in the DC Public Schools, CEO of the See Forever Foundation, and Scholar in Residence at American University. Having participated in research and education fellowships through the Fulbright Program and the Woodrow Wilson Foundation, Dr. Simmons has authored over 50 publications focusing on a variety of topics in education and STEM.
